Weeks have gone by since we last left the party. Much to everyone’s surprise the use of Ashamir’s magic has gone seemingly unnoticed. A mere four days from Bal’bar the journey seems all but at it’s end; until the sky seemingly split open and a small horde both demon and divine spilled out charging the party with winged fury. As this happened though the sky split once again and a second force engaged the original horde in combat. The group took shelter in the magical hat of the gnome caster. In a hurry, Ashamir did his best to describe the state of things and nature of the Blackfire but was interrupted as the demiplane his hat contained was ripped apart by blade of the Empyreal lord Ragathiel. Though most the travelers were not knowledgable enough to know the splendor of the being that stood before them, they were none the less overwhelmed by his his awesome presence. Ragathiel exchanged a brief conversation with Ashamir, before setting his eyes on Hienrich. He drew a weapon of which only Tomu would be able to describe, all others blind to the situation or captivated by the divine performance of another celestial being in service of Ragathiel, a blue energy flowing like fire in shape of a blade containing no steel. Ragathiel raised the blade and cleaved down through Hienrich, almost in disbelief Tomu saw that no physical damage had been done as the blade passed through the old man. Before departing, Ragathiel unleashed a brilliant light, absolutely charring Ashamir. With his dying breathe Ashamir told the party to speak with his friend Weezy who could be found in Balbar.

Escape the battle and entering the city, the party found Weezy. Weezy explained that Hienrich had been dimensionally scarred, unable to leave this plane till his wound had been healed, which as it turns out is no simple task. Requesting aid in this endeavor Heinrich and friends set out on the first step, retrieving the eye of a hag.

The newly formed caravan continued its trek north. Raphael with disregard for the authority of a pack of slavers, freed a young lad of the forest from captivity. Later the boy returned to the camp and identified himself as Finakas. Finakas is accompanied by his pick of wolves, Deoh’gi and Goose, and has declared Raphael both welcomed into and now in command of the pack. A nearly fatal encounter forced the hand of the caster Ashamir to protect his traveling companions. Exposing his magic he requested the party take more precautions when setting camp; unintentionally leading to resting in a local pack of harpies’ feeding nest. Ashamir’s tension is high they continue north.

Ah the royal wedding a spectacle to behold! The barren lands’ aristocrats out in mass! While perhaps there may have been more to it than met the eyes of our wayward travelers. The group was more focused on leaving Cal’Keth, rather than it’s unique economical situation and are venturing north!

The southern city is no place for non elvenkind. You all find yourself in a newly formed independent caravan providing you with water, rations, and shelter. The caravan is guided by a mysterious passionate gnome, Ashamir. You all have one desire in mind. to escape this desert once and for all.

The caravan has already had it’s share of encounters. An attempted attack by a group of minstrels in disguise as merchants and a stop in a small mining town, which was left in a hurry.

You are one week in, on your 2 month journey.

An adventure previously untold.

The date is days before the caravan reach Cal’Keth, a day after the goblin raid on the caravan.

Late in the eve and up in the night’s sky we find Kurvik, proudly giving test his newly strengthened wings in these, his new hunting grounds. While searching for prey to satiate his hunger, Kurvik comes across an abandoned encampment, with signs of a struggle and fresh set of tracks leading away from his caravan. Suspicious something fowl may have befell humans in need, he returns to gather his companions. In pursuit of trail. The party stumble upon a creature not one could seemingly make sense of. Enter, Don Volpe and his trust confidant, Elegante!

Figuring out the party and Don Volpe were indeed pursuing the same scoundrels they joined forces to hunt down and defeat yet another gang of desert goblins. Don Volpe helped haul the spoils of battle back to camp, and was welcomed to join the caravan in it’s Trek to Cal’Keth; Elegante was pleased to find the fairer sex of his species within the menagerie.

On the home stretch of the long road toward Cal’Keth, our adventurers came across a pair of previously unrelated curiosities, now seemingly joined by fate. One a monstrosity of stoney hide , claws, wings, and mind full of concern not only for the fate of the human race, but also the fate of his people. The the other a cloudy eyed optimist, a beacon of hope and mysterious divinity, in otherwise hopeless environment! Enter, Kurvik the awoken stone warden and Raphael the oracle.

The party and their new friends despite their ongoing problems to align as a cohesive unit, slew not only a mighty death worm as it did spring from the sands, but also a horde of goblin mounted dire wolves; seeking to wreck havoc upon the royal caravan.

Following which the part would later arrive safely in Cal’Keth, after agreeing to stay to see the royal wedding through.

And so our tale begins.
2/2/14

The royal caravan rumbled forward! Its two month journey from Bal’bar was almost at its end. Amongst it’s travelers we found an unexpected group of skilled slaves seemingly in search of their freedom, Heinrich an old traveler and Grup a scheming amphibian. The paladin of Torag by the name of Tomu, who has been commissioned to escort the caravan, and preside over the ceremonies of the royal wedding. Last but not least a mercenary, a curiosity known as Trephex who seems to delight in the suffering of others.

The four have shared in adventure and beer, having had several run ins with the natives of the desert and causing a few hijinks amongst their camp; they have made their names known amongst the caravan. The city of Cal’Keth awaits, a mere 4 days away.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
